WOMEN OF FAITH, AUGUST 22, 23, 2008 DALLAS TEXAS
I am heading to Fort Worth today to attend Women of Faith with my daughter, Joslynn, and my sister, Cindy. We rarely have the chance to do things together because all of our schedules are so very different....so this is a special treat. I am looking forward to 2 days of rest, relaxation, and spiritual growth. I love the Women of Faith conferences; however, I have never attended in person. I have always watched (after the fact) by DVD. The speakers are so dynamic and so filled with the love of Christ. You just come away with a renewed desire to get closer and closer to the One who gave us life and loves us so deeply. If you ever get a chance, I highly encourage you to attend. You will receive a blessing.

GRANNY SHEDDY & UNCLE JASON'S GRANDCHILDREN!
Quinton and Hayden......we just love having all of our kids come stay with us on the farm. Quinton and Hayden both live in the city and they really enjoy retreating to the country life for a long weekend of chasing cows, hanging out at the river, playing with the chickens and cats, and redneck swimming. We'll have to explain that a little later!!!! (Hint: feeding buckets and some really, really cold well water).

HERE'S TO YOU BRETT...
Okay, can someone tell me what is going on with Brett Favre and the Packers? I know, I know...Brett wants to be traded and most likely by the end of this evening he will be a member of another team. BUT, my question is, REALLY, what took place in the preceding months to cause this to happen. Don't you think there had to be something? It seems to have been a match made in heaven for years now. So, why all of a sudden do we have these strange sequence of events....retire, not retire, retire, return, not return, return, play, not play, trade, not trade.....I'm telling you, there has to be some underlying circumstances that have been kept quiet and I mean QUIET. Have you ever heard of such.....quiet in the NFL, no way. Somethings is rotten somewhere and we may never know just what it is. We still love you Brett.....but Tampa Bay!!!! Oh my. That will be a tough one for Jason and I but we'll follow you buddy! It sure is going to make us busy this year....now we'll be following the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers and, do you really think it's true....Tampa Bay???? We should know tomorrow.
With Katrina on our Tail.....
Our 2006 trip to Florida to visit Pok and Mi….Lois, Quinton, and Larkin (along with every electronic ‘thing’ known to man) piled into the car and we headed out…..only to have to cut our trip short due to a hurricane. This pic is a stop along the way home…..just 1 day before Hurricane Katrina. The motel we stayed in along this beach is no longer there.
IN THE KITCHEN WITH LOIS...
Hay guys!
Yesterday it was 103 degrees out side (in Texas) and Sherry and I decided that it was just too hot to do much, so I looked up this recipe and made it to take to my Sunday School class. It's called The Tunnel Of Fudge. Its from Paula Deen, The Lady and Sons cook book:
The Tunnel Of Fudge
3/4 pound (3 sticks) butter
6 eggs
1 1/2 cup sugar
One 12 1/2 oz can creamy double dutch Icing (can be altered, I used milk chocolate.)
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups of any chopped nut (I used 1 cup of chopped walnuts and 1 cup of crushed toffee and chocolate bits)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter in a large bowl at high speed . Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Add sugar gradually, creaming at high speed until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour. By hand stir in the frosting and nuts until well blended. Pour batter into well-greased well-floured bunt cake pan. Bake the cake for 60-65 minutes. Cool 2 hours before removing from pan. The cake will have a brownie like crust and a moist center with little tunnels of fudge inside.
I really hope that you enjoy this recipe keep checking the site for more of my recipes.
Cook’in it it up!!
